Tips on buying a phone cardAn experienced phone card or calling card buyer knows that it can be quite challenging when it comes to choosing and buying the cheapest card with the great actual talk time. Not all cards deliver the minutes that service provider or card manufacturer promises. As a retailer we have to list the rates as provided by the service provider or card manufacturer and we have no way of knowing if the card will deliver the rates and minutes as given to us. Regardless calling cards are still the cheapest when it comes to international calling. So we have complied a list of guidelines that will help you in finding the right card like an experienced customer. - Please read the terms and conditions of the cards. They provide valuable information such as surcharge fees, minute rounding etc.
- Call the service provider's number to make sure that you understand their fees and rates.
- The surcharges and fees of some cards may not be very transparent. In that case please call the customer service number of the card provider to find out details of the cost of calling to the country that you desire.
- Please call the toll free or local access number of the card to make sure you have access to that number from your location.
- If you have unlimited long distance plan in your home phone or cellular try to buy cards with Local Access number. This will give you more minute.
- When you are not sure if a card is good and you are buying that card for the first time, please buy only minimum value available. That way you could minimize the lost when you are not satisfied with the minutes that you get.
- Once you have found the card that you like, buy minimum value of the card in multiple quantities. For example, instead of buying $20 card, buy four $5 cards.
